Through the lens,
on the thin edge of a milkweed leaf,
a bug was made a life, a persona,
a curious face.
Adventure beckoned that day,
little legs flailing over the apex of the leaf,
the hidden realm, a spectacular world of the unseen,
waving an invitation.
A telescope, a microscope, and a macro lens
to see all the realms,
yet so much remains undiscovered.
A scarab, a June beetle, an ambassador
made beautiful, friendly, curious.
Will you still yourself to listen, long enough to hear
the dragon, the scarab, the Red-winged Blackbird
a forest choir singing the siren song?
